What’s Coming Up in Wilden?
What a great summer it has been weatherwise! Long stretches of blue skies for everyone to meet outdoors and carefully keep up with what glues us together – our sense of community. True connection can not be sustained without a physical component, that much we have learned since our social lives have been turned upside down by the global pandemic. Which is why we at Wilden are more passionate than ever about designing the future of our neighbourhoods. Someday soon we will be able to mingle again without worrying.
From mid March to mid May, while our Showhomes and offices were closed to the public, we relied on our online channels to stay in touch with our prospects, clients and residents. It was a bit of an adjustment, but then it all worked out extremely well. We welcomed new customers as well as many new residents, we pushed our research forward and gathered around the virtual drawing board. Only our construction team showed up on site and kept on building. Slower than usual due to an abundance of new protocols but they managed to work safely and productively.
The rest of us got used to meeting on Zoom and sharing screens instead of putting our heads together. Adapting to new formats of communication has definitely made us more flexible. Today we are glad we have never lost our momentum in planning. Sales are strong, our community continues to grow, and new areas are waiting in the wings. Some are even getting ready to enter center stage. Here’s an update on where our upcoming projects stand:
Pondside Landing Townhomes
Status: site servicing works and retaining wall construction ongoing. Groundbreaking for the first buildings is planned for October/November 2020. Sales are planned to commence a year later, towards the end of 2021.
This new townhome project at the shoreline of Still Pond will offer various layouts ranging from 1,500 SF to 2,600 SF. All units will have water views, some from rooftop terraces. We are currently working with a new design team on exciting interior ideas. Stay tuned for the first 3D renderings.

Hidden Hills – New Single Family Lots
Status: rezoning and development permit applications in review with the city. Before the public hearing there will be an information session for our residents (probably online).
This new neighbourhood will be located north of Hidden Lake along the new extension of Union Road and Hidden Hills Drive. Construction is planned to commence in early 2021.
Wilden Village & Market Square
Status: Civil and Architectural designs in progress. Construction of the first building (Sales Centre and future Restaurant) anticipated to start in summer 2021.

Wilden Elementary School
Status: waiting for final confirmation from school board on funding and timing. Our engineers are progressing with plans for the site servicing works.
Completion of the West side of Union Road
Status: finalizing design. We expect the work to start in spring 2021.
