2016 Wilden Creativity Day
Celebrating Young Artistic Talent

2016 Wilden Creativity Day imageThe second annual 2016 Wilden Creativity Day is taking place this Sunday, June 5th at the Wilden Presentation Center, 132 Sky Court, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.  Wilden developer, Blenk Development, launched the event to give talented young artists a chance to showcase their work to a receptive audience in a festive atmosphere.

In addition to an impressive display of visual arts and an introduction to the exhibiting artists, you will be entertained by local singer/songwriters Nicole Holkestad and Jeff Piattelli on the patio of our Wilden Presentation Centre. We will also announce the winner of the #WildKelowna Spring Photo Contest, and complimentary juice and wine from Niche Estate Winery will be served, while you are enjoying the view over Okanagan Lake.

Exhibiting Artist Amy Malbeuf

The concept for Creativity Day began in 2015 when the first Wilden Creativity Award, inspired and funded by the Blenk family, was given to a UBC student graduating in visual arts. This year’s $2,500 award went to Amy Malbeuf, a Cree Métis visual artist from Rich Lake who has already exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Amy Malbeuf and the two award finalists, Jordan Bennett and Jia Chen, will have their artwork displayed in the Wilden Presentation Center for one month starting on Creativity Day.

The intention behind the Wilden Creativity Award is to support visionary minds who create something original and want to share it with the world. The award recipient and finalists were selected by the UBC Okanagan’s Department of Creative Studies.

If you want more detailed information about our 2016 Wilden Creativity Day exhibiting artists and singer/songwriters make sure to check out our recent blog posts, as we introduced every single one of them.

We hope to see you this upcoming Sunday for a complimentary wine or juice on our lakeside patio.

See you then! 🙂
