Are you excited for Saint Patrick’s Day?

Here are some ideas for you to get in the green spirit. We’ve suggested a few local shops that offer amazing green treats as well as recipe inspirations that get us excited for the Irish celebration.

NAKED CAFE

Naked Cafe on Lawrence Avenue downtown has lots of delicious vegan treats to offer perfect to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day. Try their matcha lattes or try their salads and bowls. Lots of greens we promise.

GLOW JUICERY

Or maybe hit up Glow downtown or at the Landmark buildings and pick up a delicious green juice! A great and healthy Saint Patrick’s Day treat.

PARLOUR ICE CREAM

If you’re craving something more on the sweeter side or need some dessert say hello at Parlour downtown and try their Matcha ice cream. Perfect for Saint Patrick’s Day!

GREEN PANCAKES

Add some spinach to your favourite pancake mix or make it all from scratch. The best way to add the spinach is by adding all ingredients in a blender or blend your choice of milk with the spinach before adding with the rest of the ingredients in a bowel.

GREEN SMOOTHIE

This “Greena Colada Smoothie” by Corinne is super easy.

Here’s her recipe:

  • 1/2 pineapple
  • 1 ripe nana
  • 1-2 handful baby spinach
  • 1/2 can coconut milk
  • juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 handful ice cubes

MATCHA NICE CREAM

Make your own matcha ice cream at home. Freeze some ripe bananas cut into chunks overnight in a container or ziplock bag. Add matcha powder, frozen nana chunks, some vanilla and spices of your choice like cinnamon to your food processor. Keep pulsing until you reach a smooth consistency.

Add any topping like berries or granola of your choice.

GREEN SMOOTHIE BOWL

Start off you St. Patrick’s day with a delicious green smoothie bowel.

  • Kiwi
  • Banana
  • Spinach
  • Cucumber
  • Pineapple
  • Basil
  • Oat milk and
  • Spirulina

BAKED ASPARAGUS

Looking for a green side dish to serve on St. Patrick’s Day?! Simply bake some green asparagus with your favourite cheese on top. Add your favourite spices and voila. Easy, simple and healthy!

Have a green tea latte on St. Patrick’s Day morning…or every morning?!

Cook you favourite kind of noodles and add some green veggies and pesto to it.

  • Green Beans
  • Pees

AVOCADO TOAST

If you are looking for a simple in-between snack look no further than making an avocado toast. Cut a ripe avocado in slices and put it on your favourite style of bread. Season with salt and other spices. You can also mash the the avocado on your toast, squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top and finish it off with some black pepper. Easy and delicious!

GUACAMOLE

The perfect dip for nachos, chips, crackers or bread. Easy to make and perfect for any occasion. Get inspired by Jamie Oliver’s simple guacamole, a 10minute recipe.

Here are his ingredients:

  • ½ a small red onion
  • 1-2 fresh red chillies
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 bunch of fresh coriander
  • 6 ripe cherry tomatoes
  • 2 limes
  • extra virgin olive oil
