Bill DeKramer

2. Which Wilden neighbourhood do you live in?

Lost Creek Point Townhomes

3. What do you do for work and where can we find you online?

My wife Connie and I help people restore health with whole foods and it’s so rewarding. We’ve been doing this for 25 years and to see people able to get off meds and loose weight naturally really changes their lives in positive and productive ways. We love that. Our website is amazinghealtheffortlessly.com. We’re both Life Coaches. My personal coaching site is billdekramer.com

4. How do you relax after a hard day of work?

Well, fortunately, days don’t seem hard any more. As we’ve learned through the years to find the flow of life, how to slow down to the speed of Life, we’ve seen that we can still get just as much done but without the push and stress we used to add to it. After a full day of work I love playing with my woodworking tools making new furniture for our new home!

5. What is your secret superpower?

I’ve never thought of having a super power, but one quality that seems to come naturally and really leverage what I do in life is my ability to be present and listen. It’s amazing how powerful the connection with another human being is when I’m not overthinking or talking over what they’re saying.

6. What are some of your favourite things about living in Wilden?

What has struck me since the first time we came up to Wilden and went in the Showhome was the energy of this area and the development. There’s the quality of being out in nature, the calm, harmonious, quiet aliveness of nature combined with beautifully designed and built neighbourhoods. I’ve never experienced that before. Even before we decided to buy here, we kept coming up in the evenings just to be here. Hmm… something more than just the townhouse that attracted us here.

7. What is the most amazing adventure to go on in the Okanagan?

It may not seem like an adventure, but the Okanagan is so beautiful that we like to just take a road trip. Drive along the lakes where every turn reveals a new vista that takes our breath away, and stopping along the way to meet people with fruit or vegetable stands to hear a bit about the fascinating stories they’ve experienced in growing food here in the valley. In our line of work, food is a big part of our lives, and the Okanagan has some of the best in the world!

8. If you were an animal living in Wilden, which one would you be?

I think it would have to be a bird, probably a raptor that soars high above and takes in all the beauty and grace of this valley every day.

9. If you could give $1M to charity, which one would you choose?

I can’t think of a charity I’d give it to, but if I had $1M looking for a home I’d probably divide it among charities in 3 areas: food education in schools so kids learned more about the power of food and lifestyle to stay healthy and strong, solar/energy efficiency organizations to get the word out about how to make better use of our resources and technologies for stainable living, and the Three Principles Global Community (3PGC) who are helping people understand the role the mind plays in creating outcomes in our lives. Well, I guess I did think of a charity after all.

10. Tell us about one of your greatest adventures/memories in Wilden so far.

I’m not sure I can come up with one greatest hit. Every morning when I get up and look across the valley, I feel so at home. Every night when I go to bed and look out at the lights throughout the valley, I feel so at home. We’ve only lived here for 3 ½ months, but I still feel like pinching myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. We really like it here. That’s as good as any adventure gets, I think.

11. If you could choose anyone to be your neighbour, who would you choose?

I can think of a lot of my close friends that I’d love to have next door to share this amazing place with, but nobody comes to mind like a celebrity or that. We have a lovely neighbour now that I’m looking forward to knowing better.

12. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

More of what I’m doing now. It seems like there’s never enough time to do everything I want and would love to do, but always enough time to do what I need to do, and that fills me up.
