Celebrating Our Biggest Wild One Run Yet
This year’s Wild One Run was our biggest one yet! A big thank you to all participants, volunteers, vendors and sponsors, as well as everyone who came by to cheer, hang out, and be part of the fun! There were over 250 of you (plus some very cute dogs), and we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.
We raised a record $12,000 for the Blenk Family Fund, which will be matched by the Wilden group for a total of $24,000 going toward research and organizations focused on supporting youth mental health. Currently, our community partners include Elevation Outdoors, the CLARITY/ROYC project and Connect Counselling. Your participation, sponsorship, donations and presence at our Wild One Run help to:
- Raise awareness
- Provide free counselling to youth and shorten waitlists
- Reduce barriers to outdoor adventure and activities
- Create a sense of belonging through organized activities and hangouts
- Amplify youth voices in community decision-making
- Drive research to better understand suicide prevention at the community level
Going forward, the Blenk Family Fund will be renamed to become the Wilden Legacy Fund, fully integrating our family’s philanthropic efforts with Wilden’s intention to build strong, resilient communities and invest in future generations. We’ll continue to work with community partners as well as the KGH Foundation in hopes of making a positive impact in our community and beyond. We’re working hard to expand our reach and will keep you posted on future projects, collaborations and events.
