Tuscan in feel, but with a modern twist – this was Kevin Edgecombes vision when he created his new Showhome high up in the Wilden Skylands.
The twisted wood was hand-picked from the forest by Terry Terasewich. He was a logger for many years and collected these unique
pieces year after year. Kevin went to see Terry’s collection and was instantly inspired. The twisted wood became the accent pieces in this unique home, including hand rails, coat racks and a sculpture in the front foyer. The bold red accents are repeated throughout the entire house adding a cohesive feel to the space. The design was created to take advantage of the lake and canyon views and to create a sense of privacy on the outdoor patios – something that can be quite a challenge on a corner lot. The two water features create a zen like feeling. Wood, glass and iron railings are a visual link from the traditional Tuscan style to modern design influences. In floor radiant heat adds to the warmth and coziness of this home. The wine room under the stairs is a beautiful addition to a space that would normally be wasted. The outdoor bar made unexpectedly from stone and wood is one of the many truly artistic features. Light sources were intentionally chosen to relate to each other but not match in order to emphasize the eclectic ambiance of this spectacular home. Edgecombe Builders, one of Wilden’s 4 selected quality builders, has opened this inspirational master piece in home design on September 21st, 2013.
The Wilden Sky Parade of five Showhomes on Skyland Drive is open for visitors daily from 1 to 5 pm, except Fridays.
