#MeetWilden: Rebecca Wheeler

It’s time to #MeetWilden! Meet Wilden Team Member, Rebecca Wheeler.

1. How and when did you first get involved with Wilden and what is your role?

After moving back to the Okanagan this year and leaving behind my previous career in healthcare, I joined Wilden in September 2024. My brother, Ryan, has been a project manager with Wilden for a few years, and when a sales role opened up he suggested I come in and apply. I work in the show home and I’m a part of the in-house sales team.

2. What are some of your favourite things about working with Wilden?

One of my favourite things about working for Wilden is that it’s a family-run business, and I get to work with such a great group of people. It’s a tight knit, team-orientated, collaborative environment which makes coming to work really fun. I also enjoy getting to know all the residents and the amazing, friendly people that make up this community. It’s pretty special. Getting to work in a beautiful show home every day is pretty cool too!

3. If you were an animal living in Wilden, which one would you be?

Probably a little bird. Getting to fly around and have a bird’s eye view of this beautiful place would be awesome.

4. If you were to build your dream house in Wilden, what are some must-haves you would include?

A huge, cozy TV room with multiple TV’s where I could get comfy and watch football all day on Sundays! A big kitchen with a large island for entertaining would also be great. Ideally a lake view, and a pool in the backyard.

5. What are some of your favourite ways to relax and play in the Okanagan?

I love going for a walk or hike with my 3 year old Whoodle, Toby. In the summer I love lounging around my pool, getting out on the lake, and going to wineries.

6. Do you have a superpower or talent that nobody would guess?

I have an obsession with puzzles and board games. I wouldn’t say I’m particularly amazing at them, but I do manage to have an unhealthy level of competitiveness, especially when playing against my family!

7. What is Kelowna’s best kept secret?

A very underrated place is probably Dilworth Mountain park. It’s never busy, and it has some of the best views in town.

8. What are some of your favourite local Kelowna businesses you like to support and more people need to know about?

I’m never disappointed when I go to Waterfront Wines. Great food and great service.

9. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

I would still sleep.. I’d find a way! I love sleep and I’m quite good at it. If I truly could not sleep, I’d still get in bed and cuddle my dog.

10. If you weren’t living in the beautiful Okanagan, where else would you live?

Somewhere warm, probably somewhere in California like San Diego. Or better yet – Hawaii. In addition to the amazing, warm weather, there’s a peacefulness and calmness in Hawaii unlike anywhere else I’ve been.
