It’s time to #MeetWilden. Meet the Cool Wilden Cat Duo Kato & Frank!
1. What is your name and breed?
I’m Kato and the one on the table is Frank. His full name is Frank Black but no one ever calls him that. My full name is Kato, everyone calls me Kato. We consider ourselves domesticated felines.
2. Which Wilden neighbourhood do you live in?
We live in the Hidden Lake Lookout townhomes.
3. What do you do for work and where can we find you online?
We’re both in the relaxation business, we relax, 24/7. We have trained our staff to serve us regular meals and deliver chin scratches and belly rubs whenever we’re in the mood for that. Frank sometimes works as a mouse hunter but whenever he places a fresh kill on the kitchen counter our female servant shrieks like crazy, so I try to convince him to quit doing that.
4. What do you do for play?
My favorite toy is Octomouse, I strategically place it on doorsteps and landings at night to confuse our servitors. Frank loves to play „sneak out the front door“ but whenever he wins at it, he’s clueless about what to do next.

5. What is your secret superpower?
Mine is cuteness, by making my eyes as large as saucers and staring lovingly into your eyes, I can win over the most uninterested Dog person out there. Frank‘s is aloof disinterest that makes him mysterious and good at playing poker. Together we make a superhero team in our everlasting endeavour for treats.
6. What are some of you favourite things about living in Wilden?
The quiet and natural setting provides lots of opportunity for birdwatching, one of our favourite past times. With the great views from our windows and the deck we get hours of entertainment observing all the wildlife in the area.
7. What is Kelowna’s best kept secret?
Our staff members have a favourite swimming spot on Okanagan Lake but they insist on letting it remain a secret and refuse to disclose it even to us, their masters. Yet, since we‘re not that much into water sports, we may give them a pass on this one. This one time.

8. What is your favourite locally made product?
Being strict carnivores and teetotalers ourselves, we can’t really appreciate it but our humans simply love the local produce and of course the wine. And our male aide says the local beer has improved almost to German standards and he should know, being born and raised there. Our female servant makes lovely wall hangings and sculptures with her business partner that we love to gaze at and sometimes attempt to knock down.
9. If you could give $1M to charity, which one would you choose?
We trust all our financial affairs to our staff so I’m sure a good portion would go to an animal protection organization. For another large donation I believe our assistant would research an organization that helps to bring education to all humans.
10. What is the one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
That as cool and aloof as Frank and I may seem, we still have our kitten moments where we want to play and act goofy, sometimes it’s just impossible to ignore the temptation of a ball or string or an old toy. It’s important to be young at heart.
11. If you weren’t living in the beautiful Okanagan, where would you live?
Somewhere where there are no cat predators like coyotes or eagles or cars, so we could roam freely around the neighbourhood and meet other cats and maybe even dogs. Our assistants travel to Germany quite a lot, we hear that all the cats there are always out playing and roaming free. What a crazy place it must be!
