Get Active for Youth Mental Health • Sept. 18th, 2022
We’re back for our 5th annual Wild One Run – finally in person again!
Join us on Sunday, September 18th, 2022 for the Wild One Run: a fun, active day in Wilden’s backcountry to help raise awareness and funds for Youth Mental Health projects in our community. You choose your distance and pace. This is a community event with something for everyone, including your dogs.
After hosting the Wild One Run virtually over the past two years in 2020 and 2021, we are so excited to finally gather in person again for this event and cause which is so close to our hearts.
Three Distances, Something for Everyone!
- 10km trail run
This course will definitely have its challenges with steep ascends and descends, but the views will be worth it. Be prepared for loose footing, good trail-running shoes are recommended.
- 5km course
You can choose to run or walk the 5km course, plus you have the option to bring your dog along on this route. Dog participants will be started separately from the runners so everyone has enough space and can enjoy their run/walk.
- 1km kid’s run
The 1km course is designed for the little ones and young athletes to get a feel for the trails. This fun run is meant to get your kids excited to get their bodies moving outside, in nature.
With your 5km and 10km course registration you will receive a fun pair of Wild One Run socks. All young athletes participating in the 1km run will be rewarded with a Wild One finisher ribbon at the finish line.
All proceeds from the Wild One Run go to the Blenk Family Fund for youth mental health, which was established together with the KGH Foundation in 2017. Our goal with this fund is to strengthen the network of mental health support and services in our community, and to support prevention and care surrounding youth mental health.
We know this day will be jam picked with lots of fun, community, smiles and prizes. Early bird registration is open now until July 15th, 2022. We can’t wait for you to join us and to see you at the event.
