2019 Wilden XMAS Light Contest

Are you ready to light up Wilden?

It’s that time of the year again! Looking back at 2019, we can’t believe how fast this year flew by. We’re getting ready to keep our XMAS Light Contest tradition alive: Let’s celebrate this dark and cold, yet cozy season by adding some colour and lights to our homes. There’s nothing better than walking through the neighbourhoods once it’s dark outside and admiring all the lit up houses. We love how creative some of you get!

This is How it Works This Year:

You get the chance to be nominated as the best decorated home in your neighbourhood and then run for the winning title as ‘Best Decorated Home in Wilden’. 

The Wilden team will tour all neighbourhoods on Sunday, Dec. 8th 2019 and nominate one home with exceptional Christmas decorations in each neighbourhood. Once the final list of home nominations is put together our photography team will take pictures of every entered home on Friday evening, Dec. 13th 2019. One picture of each nominated home will be posted publicly on Facebook on December 15th and run in the contest of ‘Best Decorated Home in Wilden’. Everyone, all Wilden and non-Wilden residents, will be able to vote for their favourite by liking the picture on our Facebook page they like the best. The home with the most likes by Sunday, December 22nd @11.59pm will receive the title of ‘Best Decorated Home in Wilden’ and win the following:

PRIZE: Best Decorated Home in Wilden

• $200 GC to Sparkling Hill Resort
• 2x Wilden stainless steel mugs
• Wilden toque
• Hot chocolate
• Bottle of wine from Niche Wine Co.

NOMINEE PRIZES:

All nominated homes will be rewarded with a little prize to acknowledge their hard work and Christmas spirit. Every nominee will receive a bottle of Niche Wine Co. along with two Wilden stainless steel mugs.

Here’s the Timeline:

• December 1-7 2019: Decorate your home and get it contest ready
• December 8 2019: the Wilden team will tour the neighbourhoods and nominate homes
• December 9-12 2019: Nominations will be finalized 
• December 13 2019: Our photography team will take pictures of all nominated homes
• December 15 2019: Facebook voting for ‘Best Decorated Home in Wilden’ begins
• December 22 2019: Voting closes at 11.59pm
• December 23 2019: Overall contest winner will be announced, Winner and Nominee prizes delivered.

We can’t wait to tour the neighbourhoods and look at all your beautifully decorated homes.
