Another Wild One Trail Run in the Books! Thank you for Your Support.
Over 200 runners, walkers and volunteer, plus over 30 dogs dogs combined with sunshine and blue sky made the 2nd annual Wild One Run a fun day to remember. A huge Thank-you goes out from Wilden and the Blenk Family to everyone who was part of our 2019 Wild One Run – runners, walkers, volunteers as well as sponsors and donors.
Kodiak BC, like last year, contributed by donating their video and photography services capturing runners in action as they climbed the Wilden trails and crossed the finish line. You can check out all the pictures as well as results on the race website www.WildOneRun.ca.
Also big thank you to our Wilden residents Kim Morgan and Chris Keeley with their band Round Here for donating their time and talent. Thank you for some great live music!
Here are some race stats:
- Over 30 dogs walking & running the 5km course,
- 40+ kids plus their supporters in the 1 km run,
- 50 runners in the 10 km
- Over 100 participants who ran and walked the 5 km course
- Just over 200 total participants, not including volunteers on the trails.
With your donations, proceeds from registration and a generous contribution of $1,500 from GeoTility and $500 from Fairfield Animal Hospital we raised a total of $3,500. Gerhard Blenk the developer of Wilden and founder of Blenk Development Corporation again decided this year that the company will match the amount of funds raised and doubled the amount to a total of $7,000 that will go to the Blenk Family Fund supporting Youth Mental Health, such as the Foundry, as well as towards research and education in youth suicide prevention.

Thank you to everyone who came out to spread awareness and raise money all while sharing smiles and good vibes. We learnt a lot from this year’s trail run and can’t wait to implement new ideas and improvements next year. We are already looking forward to having everyone gather again for the 3rd annual run in fall 2020. In the meantime you can enjoy a little recap video by Kodiak BC and stay tuned for the 2020 WILD ONE at www.wildonerun.ca
